Interesting to see what people are saying about what set up they are using for Spearfishing. I am surprised that so many people actually use a combination reel and float line set up.
Let us know how you are rigging this set up if it is what you are diving with.
In Australia is the first place I’d seen guys hunting Bream down in Sydney diving with a small weight attached to their float line and tucked in their belt. When they found a spot that was good they would leave the weight on the bottom therefor marking the spot so that even in dirty water they could dive down to the exact same spot and save valuable time spent searching for the spot again.
I like this idea for hunting in dirty water and in current where it can be hard to stay on the spot. It also gives you the freedom to shoot bigger fish that may otherwise dump all your line off your reel, now when you aren’t marking the spot you can leave your gun clipped off to the float line and buoy. Pretty cool idea.
