Just when I thought I was starting to spend too much time on the internet. Brandon here went to the trouble of changing his email address from brandonarinospears@yahoo.com to camblows@yahoo.com before sending me some solid material and helpful life lessons to further shape my path in life.
Dammit why didn’t I think of that as an email address! Camblows just has a great ring to it and I haven’t heard any that good since I talked to Zacker on the phone last time.
So here is what Brandon wrote: (He even went ahead and titled it HATE MAIL OF THE WEEK for me so I wouldn’t have to waste the extra key strokes on it, thanks man!)
Hate Mail of the Week
I like how you talk as if you and your imediate buddys own the ocean or as if you should own the ocean because you’re good at spearfishing and spend a much higher than average time on the water. How about this hotshot… post a video of you freediving 120+ feet and spearing a groper and I’ll respect your profesionel spearfishing abilities a little more. For that matter, write one blog post with no spelling or grammatical errors and I’ll stop thinking you’re a f#$%ing moron.
I like how you focus this blog post on summer tips for intermediate and advanced spearfishermen and your tip for dolphin is to look for birds and floating debris. Genuis. Pure genuis.
You’re a real noble mother fucker to be using your once personal blog to be hocking spear gear and advertising, you sell out broke bitch.
Thanks for the kind words and for helping me set some solid goals for the coming year. If I could dive to 120 ft and shoot groupers I would. Unfortunately my limit is about 100 feet and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had to go past that to get fish but I guess now I’ll need to start pushing my limits because apparently thats the only way I will be able to land fish. I’ll work on it. I’ve been doing it wrong all along! Thanks for the motivation!
As far as owning the ocean, to quote the movie Super Troopers, “It’s Gods’ water… you don’t own the water…”
I’m sorry for the Slow Summer Spearing tips being erroneous. Come to find out after I did a bit of research on the Internet, Dolphins are actually a mammal closely related to whales! ” They are found worldwide, mostly in the shallower seas of the continental shelves, and are carnivores, mostly eating fish and squid. The family Delphinidae is the largest in the Cetacean order, and evolved relatively recently, (apparently some humans did not) about ten million years ago, during the Miocene. Dolphins are among the most intelligent animals, and their often friendly appearance and seemingly playful attitude have made them popular in human culture.”
This Dolphin even has a Friggin Laser Beam or something on it! Forget everything I’ve said about Dolphin, don’t find them, they’ll find you. Thanks for pointing that one out to me, here I was thinking everyone I was hearing about shooting dolphins were chasing after some fish that cruises in the bluewater.
How cruel of people to shoot dolphin! Everyone please stop spearfishing for Dolphin immediately.
I’m sure you’re getting enough Spearblog.com if you are subscribed to the RSS feed (top right of homepage) so I’ve gone to posting no more than once a day to keep the emails in check. I apparently angered Brandon (I mean, camblows@yahoo.com) by not posting his first comment above so he sent me another one first thing this morning to remind me that I was, and will always be, a “week M-F’er”.
What? Not enough hate in it for you to post? Week motherf@#$er. I fish with you every year and you will never know who I am or how much better then you I am. If you delete this comment, you’re declaring that you really are a cop out poonanny.
To which I have no response. So much anger, it reminds me why I started Spearblog and I’ve all but given up on Spearfishing Forums on the net.
Hope you’ve enjoyed another week of hate at my expense!

What an internet tough guy.. It’s pretty easy to be a hard ass when they only thing you’re beating up is your Keyboard…
Shame some serious nerd rage there. And his spelling is pretty poo for a keyboard basher.
That was a joke….. right?
No joke, wish it was. Apparently I’m not nearly as crafty as I thought I was seeing as the latest email from him claims that the Brandonarse@Yahoo.com was a “made up” email address too. Good times. For any of you computer gurus out there that like a challenge, the IP address of my greatest fan is 74.60.1.72 which is somewhere in Duluth GA.
Good thing I have thick skin or I’d be really embarrassed that I can’t dive 120′ and shoot groupers to become a man. I’ll have to invest in a speedo and maybe get a monofin. That might help…
What exactly is a “groper” and a “profesionel” ?
ahahahahahaha what a joke the part that absolutley split my sides was the “grammatical errors part” hahaha im pretty no sane person has ever typed out a page and a half long thing with out any grammar errors. cam you are right about that qoute from super troopers. but iwas having a s@#$y day before i read this
well the amount of spelling and grammar errors coming from @camblows… is enough to make your eye twitch!!
you’re still very respected in sunny south florida Cam!
Im pretty sure its a camera on the dolphin’s fin. The Navy uses them to find stuff under water. Super Rad. Any way thanks for the tips you gave me on hunting dogtooth (at the hawaii skin diver expo). I fly out this weekend, if the tips dont work work expect a similar letter from me complete with spelling errors.
I like your posts and enjoy the pictures. The greatest spearfisherman in the world is the one who is having the most fun. I don’t think you need to sweat it, there are probably hundreds of divers in the world who can freedive 120′ and pop a grouper. Yet I bet every one of them is jealous that you have productive spots in half that depth. The better I become at spearfishing the lazier of a freediver I become. So, I am now quite happy shooting 10lb Mutton Snappers from the surface as my buddies work twice as hard.
Goodluck and stop sitting on all that sick dive footage I know you have!
-Matt
the best part is, he goes to your website so many times to find stuff to bitch about that he’ll probably end up buying some riffe gear as a result of all the advertising.
Cam, that had to be the funniest shit! I don’t know if it’s a friend of yours or not? I hope it is! So much anger.
Must be a full time Internet dive like myself. He’s mad at the world cause he can’t go divin’.
If you can throw your Balls and demand a man spear big groupers at 120 I sure as hell hope you can do it yourself!
That’s why I love spearing Wahoo. I could be in 200′ but only have to go under 5 feet to shoot a 50lb fish.
Cam,
I really appreciate all the crap you go through to educate douchebags like this guys. You really are a classy guy.
i would guess this is a kid roughly between 13-18, who cant pull back his own bands on his gun. i also like how your a sell out and a broke bitch. i hope he is flipping burgers drooling at the mouth thinking of the ocean right now. have fun in GA little guy
Want to know something ironic? When sailing between Terceira and Sao Miguel, I came upon a MASSIVE column of birds diving into a bait ball the size of a bus. It being the Azores, I figured there would be a million fish pushing the ball to the surface. WRONG. It was a huge pod of dophins, not Mahi mahi, common dolphin. Not a singe pelagic or predatory fish was moving the ball upward. So, either way you look at it, birds can mean dolphin.
Sadly, I think massive inferiority complexes tend to drive most scathing hate comments online. It sends up a red flag when someone openly says “I’m better than you”. Too bad, I’m sure he’s a good diver who wants to be recognized as publicly “knowing more than Cam”.
Oops. Spelled dolphin wrong.
