“Think itīs respectless and pure stupidity… claming to love the wildlife in the saes, and then go on killing these buatifull creatures… start fishing, then you can C&R! Your nothing like pro fishermen, youre more like the commercial fishing fleet. As long as you get your kill, you walk over bodies to get it…”
Thank you for the email Viking and I sincerely hope that we can come to an amiable solution to this conflict that you seem to believe exists between us and the buatifull (sic) creatures that we are hunting.
Unlike when your forefathers set forth in their Dragon shaped ships to the far reaches of the seas to rape and plunder, we as spearfisherman respect our fishery and our fellow fisherman and seek to enjoy the waters we live in while respecting the local fish populations and promoting a “take only what you need” mentality.
I would think that coming from someone that takes pride in burning villages and running around with an unkempt beard and a metal hat with horns sticking out of it, that spearfisherman are a relatively tame bunch.
Granted, we do get in our fair share of trouble but from what I have seen Spearfisherman could learn something from the Vikings. It has come to my attention that for the most part, spearfisherman have absolutely no game with the ladies. I know from history that this apparently must have also been the case with your people who resorted to just stealing women from the different towns they ransacked not asking permission but just going for it and hoping for the best. While I don’t condone this behavoir, if it is any consolation I have seen the level of skill (or lack thereof) with which Spearfisherman viciously attack the dance floor or attempt to woo the fairer sex. Sad. Very sad indeed.
For more proof of this you can reference some of our most well known spearo’s wearing capes and captain america outfits in attempt to better their chances on the dance floor or at the local bar.
So you see my red haired friend, we are not so different. The Vikings and the spearfisherman can live in peace and learn from each other.
You are so quick to chastise us for taking from the sea yet your countrymen have dropped the oars and shields and instead powered their boats with massive gurgling diesel engines and Harpoon Guns and are one of a handful of nations that still believes it is acceptable to pursue the largest mammals on earth, Whales.
Many of the techniques and skills developed over time for spearfishing come from the Vikings throwing spears and harpoons at both people and whales. As far as I know there are no Spearfisherman (besides myself and maybe James Bond) who have purposely attacked another human or Whale so I think you need to look inward and correct some of your own issues before you come and attack us.
We are a friendly tribe, we respect our oceans and when we visit someone elses waters outside of our own, we follow their rules and local customs and with the exception of maybe Brandon Wahlers we don’t attack their women or burn their villages.
We are here to catch fish, not too many, just enough to for a few good meals and a trophy every once in a while. We have no bycatch, we leave no dangerous monofilament, hooks, or nets behind to entangle, kill and lay waste to the oceans after we are gone.
We after all, are divers, not Vikings, and stewards to our environment.
Regards
Cameron Kirkconnell
PS: What the hell is the point of burning a perfectly good boat whenever someone important dies and then forcing one of the few hot chicks you have to burn with it? I never did understand that one. But then again if you ever look at how many actual women there are in spearfishing or attached to any Spearfisherman’s Facebook page you will realize that yes, once again, spearfishing is not something that gets you chicks. You Vikings must have heaps of them up there!

I for one can vouch for the senseless wearing of costumes to woo wayward females. This Friday I am going to a cowboy and Indian party, with the sole intent of snaring a lass in my lasso, which is why they call it that.
Classic
I hate waste of any kind. I think the stupidity of wasting a good boat and beautiful woman trumps killing a few fish any day of the week!
Haha – wow. People are unbelievably stupid.
Viking should his email to Duchebag77@gmail.com
We are here to catch fish, not too many, just enough to for a few good meals……………..CLEAR..
Stop messing around on this blog Woody and get some damn chores done around the house for once!
Cam you shouldn’t harass vikings, I just saw a cartoon documentary where they were training nightfury dragons. Fierce stuff.
As a Viking who spearfishes, I do not believe you should be disparaging Vikings as a race. My Viking family conquered Mexico long before those pinche Spaniards arrived here. For the record I see nothing wrong with taking my limit of quality fish in an eco-friendly manner and then burning a village or two, disco dancing, singing some karaoke, harassing the local cops, plundering the women and raping the cattle, (oops got that backwards due to the Wahlers influence) and drinking until the brewery workers get overtime pay. Anyways, Viking spearos rock!
all this made me want to do is wear a viking helmet the next time i dive
I wonder how many of these people pursue their mission to, “save the environment” outside the comfort of hiding behind a keyboard. It’s one thing to spew a rant, and quite another to actually get involved and educate yourself. In any case I plead that spearfishing is a deeply spiritual process in which one immerses them self in an inhospitable environment to farther understand it. Yes we kill fish, but it’s so much more than that. Lol I’m preaching to the choir.
These “Pro Fishermen” need to set their beer down and jump out of the boat, and swim with the sharks to catch a fish. Now THAT is real sporting
HAHAHA thats why i spearfish for the chicks. i love it especially when people talk about grouper because i cant count how many undersize, or over size, not good eating fish i have killed from being ripped off the bottom rod and reel fishing. idiots
Fish are not your friends! Kill them! Eat them!
