Hate Mail of the Week: Spearfishing Expert Needed

I couldn’t help but send Jerry an email to let him know his adoring fans are looking forward to hearing from him. The title of the email was SPEARFISHING EXPERT NEEDED

Good Morning Jerry
I appreciate your rude and uneducated email bad mouthing me publicly. As a worldwide advocate for the protection of fisheries and proper management I am less than surprised that there are people that are supposedly working in our favor to protect the oceans but yet have no idea what they are talking about.
Do some more research, educate yourself, and represent your country and what you stand for better. If you were in fact a commercial spearfisherman you would know that Potato Cod, Goliath Grouper, and many other large groupers around the world are protected and for good reason. You would also know, but since you were busy racking up GWS encounters to enter with the Guiness Book of World Records, that there are viable species of grouper throughout the world that have sustainable fishery regulations in place to maintain their numbers and a healthy fishery. We have worked hard here in the United States to protect our species and spearfisherman have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in the same so that our children will be able to enjoy the sport we love.
This was the only fish speared on this day, we had a party that evening for 25 and the rest was given to the eager crowd at the fillet table and none was wasted.
This was a trophy fish taken from a healthy population.
If you want to make a difference in the world, stop bad mouthing people that are doing their part and instead invest that time in learning about the subject you are preaching so poorly about.
