William Trubridge tonight on 60 Minutes. If you didn’t watch it you can check it out online. Good show but I’m still frustrated with the details of Competition. I appreciate both the hard work that he put in and also the structure needed to maintain “records” but…
Whats your take on this dive and the result?

  1. I’m a bit confused by what you mean when you say you are frustrated with the details of competition? What’s the “but…”??? I thought the fact that he hit the depth is not enough to call it a record. Sure it could go under his “personal bests” but not a world record. The whole reason for the structure is to regulate what is constituted as a record across the world, as is with any other competitive sport. We can’t just have people showing up to the surface doing the samba after a 500 ft dive and calling that a record.
